As Christians, we have often read the following scripture:

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1

But what does this really mean?  You know the tried-and-true answers to this question.  Faith is what we exercise when we believe in a God which we cannot "see."  The good Christian places his trust in an "unseeable" God -- without any scientific proof -- and dedicates his life to God, despite adversity.

But I would also argue that faith is also about transformations.  It's about God transforming our lives through our belief in Him, and it's about us transforming our own lives through Him.  As you go about today, think about how having faith in God has transformed your life, and about how that transformation has enabled you to transform others.  Contemplate how faith has enabled you to transform what you visualize -- the things not seen -- into a tangible reality.

Yours in Christ,

Rev. Jim Shannon
